Sanlam rebrands as SanlamAllianz Namibia

Sanlam has partnered with Allianz, one of the world’s top insurance and investment companies, to form SanlamAllianz Namibia.

During the official launch of the partnership in Windhoek on Tuesday, SanlamAllianz Namibia chief executive Tertius Stears said the partnership brings together the experience and financial strength of two trusted international brands.

He said this change will bring new opportunities not only for clients but also for the entire financial industry in Namibia.

“This move to SanlamAllianz Namibia marks the start of a new era. We’re bringing world-class financial services to our clients and creating more value for all Namibians,” said Stears.

He also mentioned that this change will help offer better services to Namibia’s German-speaking community, thanks to Allianz’s strong roots in Germany.

The rebrand represents a stronger and more global company, combining the resources and skills of both Sanlam and Allianz.

The goal is to develop better financial products, support local businesses, and help the Namibian economy grow.

Ministry of Finance executive director Michael Humavindu spoke at the gala and praised Sanlam’s long history in Namibia.

“Sanlam has been part of Namibia’s economic story for almost 100 years. As it becomes SanlamAllianz Namibia, we expect to see even more innovation and opportunities for all Namibians,” said Humavindu

The rebrand was officially revealed by minister of information and communication technology Emma Theofelus. In her speech, she said the partnership supports Namibia’s goals of helping people and businesses thrive.

“Our country’s plan is to empower citizens and communities. SanlamAllianz Namibia shares this vision by helping people gain access to better financial services,” said Theofelus.

SanlamAllianz Group chief executive Heinie Werth says their purpose is to give people in developing countries better access to financial tools, education and opportunities so future generations can live better lives.

SanlamAllianz Namibia has committed to helping Namibia grow.

Their plans include creating new jobs, supporting small businesses, encouraging investment, and making financial services more inclusive and accessible to everyone.
