MTC Salute Boxing Academy stars Nathanael Kakololo and Lazarus Shaningwa will be involved in non-title bouts in Russia on Saturday, with Jonas Matheus also in action in South Africa on the same day.

Kakololo will face Russian Petr Vasilyev in a lightweight eight-rounder, while Shaningwa will fight another Russian in Mikhail Varlamov over six rounds in a non-title fight on the same international boxing tournament bill in Yakutsk.

Coach Tobias Nashilongo will be in the corner of the Europe-bound fighters who left for their destination yesterday.

“We also have Jonas Matheus, who will travel with his coach, Elifas ‘Elvis’ Nandjembo, this Wednesday to partake in an international boxing tournament against [South African] Sikho Ngothole at Booysen Box Camp in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the evening of 9 December,” Salute Boxing said in statement.

Matheus will be involved in a non-title super flyweight bout over 10 rounds.

“Besides the three above-mentioned boxers who are going to fight outside the country, we also have three boxers from our stable who are going to take part in an upcoming boxing tournament hosted by Onkugo Boxing Promotion scheduled for this coming weekend at Jan Wilken Indoor Complex at Walvis Bay,” Salute stated.

The trio comprises Petrus Matheus, Immanuel David and Simasiku Muchila.

Welterweight Matheus will take on Fillipus Amwaama over four rounds, while David versus Martin Kambalili is a fight between professional debutants at welterweight (over four rounds), with Muchila battling Naftalie Shooya in a heavyweight clash of novices in the paid ranks (over four rounds).
