Ramblers scoop three cups at SKW Youth Football Tournament

With more than 70 teams and 1 000 enthusiastic young footballers of all age groups from under 7 to under 17, the SKW sports fields were a hive of hyper activity.

The football players did not disappoint, and it was an amazing sight of talent and sportsmanship in all age groups.

The u7 league was won by Ramblers Cheetahs, who finished just ahead of SKW Foxes and Swallows on a Round Robin basis.

Ramblers Lions, Swallows, Swakop Sharks and SKW Mambas contested the semifinals in the U9 age group, and again Ramblers were victorious against the Sharks from Swakop.

Swallows took the u11 age group against Swakop on penalties, ahead of Ramblers and Otjiwarongo.

Mario’s Football surprised and made it into the semi finals in the u13 age group, were they lost to eventual winners Swakop. And again Swallows was in the mix.

SKW dominated the U15 age group and deservedly won ahead of Swallows and Otjiwarongo.

Delta Schule nearly caused the biggest upset in the u17 age group, only losing to Ramblers in the final, whilst kicking out favourites SKW on penalties.

The most positive impact to the tournament was Swallows, who reached the semifinals in nearly every age group.

The organisers thanked the sponsors of the event, Retirement Solutions Fund, Komnik and Frank, Rent a drum, OK Hypersave, Interpak and Deep Catch.
