Police seeking witness in Langstrand hit and run accident
John Robinson died on the B2 road between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund when he was run over by a pick-up, after which two sedans then drove over him.
A statement issued by the Namibian Police’s Erongo regional commander Andreas Nelumbu yesterday said investigations have revealed that a woman in her 20’s informed someone that she was in one of the sedans that drove over Robinson.
The statement said “sketchy information at hand states that a certain woman in her twenties who is only known as Horases, informed another woman she was travelling with in a taxi after the incident that when she was in a taxi from Swakopmund that morning, their taxi drove over a man but the driver refused to stop”.
Nelumbu said further information indicates that Horases is light in complexion and short and resides in Swakopmund’s Mahetago residential area.
She is said to have a sister who is a police officer at Khorixas.
Robinson was allegedly partying with friends, two sisters and his two young daughters at a family house at Langstrand when he decided to go home.
He was reportedly looking for a taxi to return to Walvis Bay at around 03h00 when the accident occurred.
Anybody with information on the witness or accident can contact the Walvis Bay Criminal Investigation Unit or the nearest police station.
