Oshikoto governor’s office to pay registration fees of region’s disadvantaged students

The office of the Oshikoto governor says it will pay university registration fees of disadvantaged students in the region.

The Oshikoto governor’s office, in collaboration with Rani Group, is providing once-off registration funding to residents who intend to study at any Namibia Qualifications Authority-accredited institution of higher learning in Namibia.

The funding targets orphans and students from disadvantaged communities.

Governor Penda Ya Ndakolo in a statement on Wednesday said priority will be given to unfunded students in the region.

“The governor of Oshikoto would like you to inform all the residents of Oshikoto of this opportunity and encourage them to apply. Please note that all applications should be submitted at your constituency offices,” he says.

Ya Ndakolo says all applications should be accompanied by a letter from a village headman or a sworn confirmation indicating the applicant is a resident of the region.

Funding will be provided to students intending to study in the fields of agriculture, secondary education, procurement, science, and technical fields.
