A woman from Opuwo allegedly stabbed her boyfriend (35) to death at Okapupona on Tuesday.

Kunene police spokesperson inspector Vehangazi Ruiter says the couple was allegedly arguing at a cuca shop.

“The deceased person slapped the suspect’s cheek and drew a knife from his pocket,” he says.

Ruiter says the man allegedly tried to stab his girlfriend, but she hit the hand holding the knife.

“The suspect picked up the knife and stabbed the deceased in the left side of his neck. The deceased was taken to the hospital by community members, but was declared dead upon arrival by the doctor,” Ruiter says.

The woman was arrested and is due to appear in the Opuwo Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Police investigations continue.
