ENTERTAINMENT … Yeezir will be perform at Okakarara.

Prominent Okakarara event organiser Samuel Petrus, also referred to as Tate Sammy, says locals and visitors from neighbouring towns can expect a year-round hive of spectacular entertainment at Okakarara.

In an interview with The Namibian over the weekend, Tate Sammy revealed a schedule of entertainment events to be held in the town, beginning with Valentine’s Day, Independence Day, and including an All White Party and an End of Year Bash.

All activities will take place at Okakarara’s Tate Sammy Beer House No. 2, a venue well-known for organising a wide range of entertainment events for the community, he says.

“This year we will try to do something different by bringing in entertainers who were not featured in the previous year’s events and those that are more in demand,” says Tate Sammy.

Yeezir, a young and gifted vocalist, will debut at local events this year, as well as Killa B, Bale Bale and Rax, who will perform at the inaugural Valentine’s event, scheduled for 24 February.

DJ Max-T and DJ Omdesh will be joining them on the decks.

“Attendees will dress in a romantic way under the theme of white and red to observe a month of love.”

There will be cash prizes and a smartphone up for grabs for the best-dressed person at the event. he says.

Yeezir, One Blood and a few more artists will be confirmed soon to perform at the Independence Bash, scheduled for 23 March.

“People are encouraged to dress in traditional and cultural attire,” Tate Sammy says.

“This year I am going to slaughter a cow for the annual independence bash, and people will eat for free, with more competitions and lots of entertainment.”

Surprises are always present, and this year we aim to surpass last year’s offerings, he adds.

The All White Party will be hosted on 1 June and the End of Year Bash on 2 December.
