No more alcohol at OK Foods

The OK Foods store at Khorixas has removed all the alcoholic drinks from its shelves since this morning.

According to one of the owners of OK Foods at Khorixas, Guillawme J. Viljoen, the supermarket decided to take down the alcohol from its shelves rather than await the government’s moratorium on the sale of liquor.

"We took it off today as I know lockdown will come soon. It will affect our business, but we cannot risk the health of people. Alcohol makes people reckless. We cannot sell it during the time of Covid-19. Health is more important,”Viljoen told The Namibian.

The alcohol taken off the shelves at OK Foods was valued at more than N$30 000. Local youth Rejoice !Nawases applauded the decision, saying that people can spend their money on food and other essential items instead.
