The airline was looking for someone with a love for life and Namibia to be its brand ambassador – an everyday Namibian to help celebrate the spirit of the country and its people.
Nghiishililwa aced the gig with a photo and a 30-second motivation video.
FlyNamibia selected the top 10, after which Namibians voted for the very first Face of FlyNamibia.
As the winner, Nghiishililwa signed a year-long contract, will receive a monthly retainer, go on epic adventures, and will join the airline”;s team for events.
“I”;m a vibrant, jolly, easy-going extrovert and love to think of myself as a funny individual. I am a proud Oshiwambo-speaking young lady who”;s chasing big-city lights. I am a dedicated, very motivated woman who”;s just trying to keep her dream alive. I love swimming,” she says.
“I definitely would love to see myself swimming in or taking part in competitions, and basically just continuing with the sport for as long as I can. I have just discovered my passion for travel,” she adds.
Nghiishililwa says she believes in herself and puts her mind to whatever she wants to achieve.
“I do not limit myself, never. I don”;t believe in failure. It can be a setback, yes, but I believe when you encounter an obstacle in life, always think of it as a blessing. Sometimes you didn”;t actually fail, God just had other plans for you,” she says.
Nghiishililwa says her job at FlyNamibia is fun, since she gets to go on epic adventures and attend interesting events.
“My presence is literally my job description. My first flight ever was with FlyNamibia as its face. My love for travel grows each day.
“The experience is overwhelming, amazing and exciting. I am amazed to be able to travel to certain places in a matter of minutes in a plane, and I get to go to so many beautiful places.
“It blows my mind that it”;s happening and it”;s real. I am definitely looking forward to more great adventures with my family, FlyNamibia,” she says.
Nghiishililwa is currently studying towards an honours degree in accounting at the University of Namibia.
She says she has always dreamt of the corporate life, but life outside an office seems a more interesting to her.
“I was a lucky girl when I won the title of the Face of FlyNamibia. Being an ambassador is probably the most exciting thing that could happen to anyone. Let me just say this may be the beginning of something great, a kick-start to my career.
“I am quite honoured and feel special about winning this first-ever contest,” she says.
