NEDBANK Namibia is rolling out its private wealth offering to the coast and northern Namibia, to allow more people to invest through the bank’s stockbroking platform.
According to a statement from the bank, there are a substantial number of clients outside Windhoek who would appreciate Nedbank’s approach to banking and can greatly benefit from the private wealth offering.
“We want someone at Walvis Bay, Swakopmund or Oshakati to have access to the same service and advice as our Windhoek-based clients. Simply put, we ‘re following an approach that allows us to join our customers on their journeys to a better future,” said Johan Möller, wealth manager: national sales and stockbroking, who will be responsible for the roll-out to areas outside Windhoek.
“This can only be done by taking the time to know our clients well and having discussions on a different level. Because it’s advice-led, we have an opportunity to understand the client’s bigger picture before we offer advice,” he added.
Möller said the expansion of the private wealth offering will provide a solution to a historic problem of viewing banking separately from investments, insurance, estate planning and philanthropy ambitions.
“The reality is that our financial decisions are interconnected and only by following a holistic approach can real value be unlocked. The list of problems we can solve for our clients is endless,” he said.
Möller has 14 years ‘ experience in the financial sector – nine in the banking sector and five in the pension and investment industry – to ensure the roll-out is smooth.
“I ‘m most proud of having worked at great companies that contribute to Namibia’s development and the financial security of its people – businesses with a real purpose,” he said.
Möller holds a bachelor of commerce degree in banking from the University of South Africa and a post-graduate diploma in financial planning through the University of the Free State.
