NBC, Trustco team up for more content

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and Trustco Group Holdings (Trustco) last month signed a five-year agreement to embark on various programmes, including bringing back the once popular show ‘Winna Mariba’.

The two entities agreed to jointly execute pillars of media training, local content development, marketing and branding enhancement, educational awareness on developmental and economic issues, and a Miss Namibia media partnership.

During the recent signing ceremony in Windhoek, NBC director general Stanley Similo said the parties recognise the importance of cooperation to promote and develop areas of mutual interest in fields related to media, information and communication technology, public relations and marketing and archives.

“It is against this background that we enter into this mutually beneficial agreement with the desire to establish a formal basis for cooperation in content development and sharing, brand enhancement, and news stories exchange. These are the shows that people can watch and families can relax. We want to grow Namibia and its people,” Similo said.

Trustco deputy chief executive officer Quinton van Rooyen said through this partnership they aim to harness the power of media to foster positive change, empower local talent and promote meaningful dialogue on important societal and economic issues.
He said Trustco is a diversified investment group with a culture of creating long-term sustainable growth for all stakeholders, and has done so for the past 30 years.

“We look forward to walking hand in hand with NBC. At Trustco, we view cyclical setbacks and the need for constant adaptation and improvement in our operating environments as catalysts that drive our success. Together, we will shape a future where knowledge, creativity and responsible media play a pivotal role in driving progress and inspiring our nation. We are truly honoured to embark on this transformative venture and look forward to the positive impact we will create together,” Van Rooyen said.
