The Capricorn Foundation has pledged to invest N$1 million in Bank Windhoek’s Young Talent programme to mitigate youth unemployment.
Marlize Horn, Capricorn Group’s brand and corporate affairs executive, says the funds will be used to provide young people wth training and employment opportunities.
“The Capricorn Academy for School-Leavers offers 10 graduates from the Grade 12 class of 2023 the opportunity to join Bank Windhoek for an 18-month comprehensive training and job-placement programme,” she says.
Horn says during this period, participants will receive training across various banking disciplines, learn from professionals in Windhoek, and be placed at selected Bank Windhoek branches nationwide.
The academy aims to equip and empower young school-leavers with the necessary skills and experiences to build successful careers, she says.
“Through this initiative, we hope to contribute to reducing youth unemployment and fostering economic empowerment,” she says.
The programme is open to graduates who obtained their Grade 12 certification last year.
