Executive director of industries, mines and energy Ben Nangombe has been transferred to the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).
This was confirmed by a source in the OPM.
The executive director in the president’s private office, Moses Pakote, is set to move to the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy, replacing Nangombe.
Prior to his position in the mines ministry, Nangombe was the executive director of health and social services.
He was not reachable for comment on Wednesday.
Pakote has already paid the mines ministry’s regional office at Swakopmund a visit.
The visit was announced on the ministry’s Facebook page five days ago.
“As part of the ongoing implementation of the deputy prime minister’s programme in the Erongo region, executive director Moses Pakote conducted a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Mines and Energy’s Swakopmund Regional Office today,” the post reads.
According to the update, the purpose of the visit was to gain a first-hand overview of the office’s operations and to engage with regional staff on key areas of service delivery.
“The visit also provided an opportunity to identify best practices that can be leveraged to enhance operational efficiency and improve regional implementation across the ministry,” the update reads.
