NAMIBIAN Ports Authority (Namport) recently handed over an administration block valued at N$740 000 to the Elamba Combined School at Tsandi, Omusati region.
The administration block comprises a production room, individual offices for the principal, head of department, learner counselling room, a staff room, as well as ablution facilities for teachers.
The school principal Salomo Shipopyeni received the donation on behalf of the school management.
“With this donation, we are now able to render superior services to our learners as we now have the needed resources,” said Shipopyeni.
Elamba Combined School was constructed 41 years ago and has a learner population of 302. Prior to the NamPort donation, administration was done from an old dilapidated building, which was built by the community.
Namport has also constructed two classrooms at the Five Rand Primary School at the Okahandja’s informal settlement of Five Rand at a cost of N$ 300 000. Apart from infrastructure donations, the port authority will also equip Onawa Secondary School in Omusati region with school furniture valued at N$163 848.
Namport’s social investment fund trustee member Elias Mwenyo handed over the administration block.
