Namibia’s trade information portal officially launched

THE Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade launched Namibia’s trade information portal in Windhoek on Thursday.

The portal will act as a one-stop centre for trade-related information ranging from regulations, laws and opportunities.

Deputy minister Verna Sinimbo said the portal is an answer to the challenge faced by many businesses when it comes to accessing information that is currently scattered among different government agencies.

“This lack of readily available information has been a barrier to trade and business growth,” said Sinimbo.

She said the platform provides readily available information to allow businesses to benefit from the trade agreements Namibia has with other countries.

The portal officially went live on Thursday and is accessible on the ministry’s website for free.
