Namibia face Lesotho in Chan qualifiers

The Brave Warriors take on Lesotho’s Likuena in the first round of the 2024 African Nations Championship qualifiers.

Lesotho will host the first leg between 25 and 27 October, according to the draw conducted in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday.

The return leg is set for 1 to 3 November. Both matches are expected to be contested in South Africa, given that neither Lesotho or Namibia have Fifa approved stadiums.

The winner of the tie will battle Angola in the second round for a ticket to the finals which will be jointly staged by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in February 2025.

The competition is exclusively held for players who compete in their domestic leagues.

Namibia’s sole appearance at the Chan finals was in 2018 when they reached the quarter-finals before getting eliminated by hosts Morocco.
