THE coach of Namibia’s senior national women’s netball team Julene Meyer said there is still lots of work to do for her side, despite a 54-47 victory against Botswana in the M1 Nations Netball Cup in Singapore on Friday.
Namibia are on the verge of winning the M1 Nations Cup when they host Singapore in the play-off match scheduled for October 26.
Namibia has already beaten Papua New Guinea 59-47, the Cook Islands 61-46, and Ireland 52-31, but played out to a 54-54 draw against host Singapore in the opening match on October 20.
Namibia is using the M1 Six Nations Cup in order to get a good international netball ranking by the end of the year.
Namibia is ranked 32nd in the world.
Speaking in an interview with Xinhua from Singapore, Meyer said a win against Botswana was just a normal game as she urged her players to continue with their good showing in their next match.
“We still have lots of work to do. We played well against Botswana, but at times we gave away the ball to our opponent (Botswana) and also our passing was not accurate enough against Botswana. It is good to win though.
“The Botswana match was just like any other match we have played so far. We need to win our final match. It will be very tough because every match in Singapore is tough. We will do our level best in our final match,” Meyer said. – Xinhua
