New Era has appointed Edward Mumbuu as the news editor effective 1 April.
New Era managing editor Johnathan Beukes confirmed the appointment to The Namibian on Friday.
“Mumbuu went through the interview process and came out on top. We’re delighted that we could appoint an in-house talent who can help us take our young team to greater heights,” Beukes said.
Mumbuu has several years’ experience, beginning his media career at the now defunct weekly The Patriot, before moving to the Namibia Press Agency, and then New Era.
He earlier served as the state-owned publication’s night editor in an acting capacity.
