MTC secures naming rights for Kasi Vibe with N$3m sponsorship

Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) announced a significant sponsorship deal on Tuesday, committing N$1 million annually for the next three years to the Kasi Vibe Festival.
The agreement secures MTC as the naming rights partner, rebranding the event as the MTC Kasi Vibe Festival.
MTC’s chief brand, marketing, communications and sustainability officer, Tim Ekandjo, said the partnership aims to bolster the local economy.
“MTC, through the sponsorship, is proud to be adding value that unlocks more opportunities for the business community and Namibian creatives,” Ekandjo said.
He emphasised the strategic vision for the event, noting: “We want this festival to grow and start attracting participants from neighbouring countries.”
Beyond entertainment, MTC views the festival as a critical hub for commerce and development.
“By investing in the Kasi Vibe Festival, we are investing and supporting the dreams of aspiring and current entrepreneurs and the creative space,” Ekandjo said.
He added that the initiative provides “opportunities to local talents while embracing diverse culture and unity”.
Salmi Shigwedha of Kasi Vibe welcomed the deal as a transformative milestone.
“Today marks a historic moment for the Kasi Vibe Festival,” Shigwedha said.
She highlighted that the partnership validates the festival’s role in youth empowerment. “MTC has not only invested in a festival, they have invested in our youth, our SMEs, our artists, our dreamers,” she noted.
Shigwedha concluded: “Together, we will build a platform that is bigger, bolder and more inclusive than ever before.”
