Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) Maris has recorded more than 500 000 users as of January.
MTC Maris is a mobile money platform offering instant loans, digital wallet services, cash-in/cash-out, and bill payments.
In a statement issued yesterday, MTC Maris executive director Kayembe Ilunga says Maris’ mandate and vision is to ensure 100% financial inclusion in Namibia.
“We continue to mature our operational, technical, and agent-support capabilities, ensuring that as the network grows, service quality grows with it. Hence, we are investing in field support, training, compliance, and customer-centered offerings,” he says.
MTC Maris has additionally signed a partnership agreement with Kazang – a micro-payment processing platform, providing prepaid services and card-acquiring solutions primarily to informal traders, spaza shops, and small businesses.
Kazang has 5 500 agents countrywide.
Ilunga says the partnership will allow more people have access to financial services.
“Kazang has vast established distribution points, allowing us to deepen financial inclusion by reducing travel time and cost for customers needing cash-in, cash-out, or e-wallet services,” he says.
