Namibia Post Ltd (NamPost) has appointed its chief operating officer, Willem Mouton, as chief executive for a five-year term starting Saturday.
Nampost made the announcement on Friday.
Mouton succeeds Eldorette Harmse, executive for legal services, governance and compliance, who has served as acting chief executive since 1 September 2025 following the retirement of Festus Hangula.
NamPost board chairperson Simeon Amunkete says the board was confident Mouton would lead the company into its next phase.
“His proven leadership, extensive executive experience and deep understanding of NamPost’s operations make him exceptionally well placed to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth and transformation,” Amunkete says.
Mouton has served as NamPost’s chief operating officer and has experience in operations, business development and corporate management.
Before joining NamPost, he was chief executive of the United Africa Group. He also served as head of business development at Nampro Fund.
He holds a master of business administration in organisational leadership from the University of Roehampton in the United Kingdom, an MBA in business and commerce from Stellenbosch Universityband a higher diploma in accounting and finance from the Polytechnic of Namibia.
Amunkete says the board believes Mouton’s leadership and operational experience will help strengthen NamPost’s position as the country’s national postal operator while driving innovation, growth and long-term sustainability.
