More than 1 000 graduate from International Training College Lingua

Some 1 000 students graduated from International Training College Lingua in Windhoek on Friday.

The ceremony was held under the theme ‘A Legacy of Learning, a Future of Innovation’.

Speaking at the ceremony, the college’s founder and chief executive, Ingrid Kloppers-Mettler, said: “Today we do more than celebrate academic success, we celebrate perseverance, progress, partnership and potential.

“To our graduates, this moment belongs to you. Your dedication, courage and growth have brought you to this milestone.”

She mentioned the transition of the institution to full university status as well as the opening of new campuses at Rehoboth and Usakos.

Deputy minister of education, innovation, youth, sport, arts and culture Dino Ballotti at the event urged graduates to create value in whatever they pursue.

“Whatever your passion may be, let it be in coding, dance, music, agriculture or football like myself, the statement is go out and create value,” he said.

The ceremony was also attended by Usakos mayor Irene Simeon-Kurz, who served as the guest speaker.

“This year’s theme is not just a statement, it’s a call for action. A legacy of learning is about more than academic achievement, it’s about how you honour those who made sacrifices for your journey,” she said.
