Miss Petite Global Namibia back for 2025

MISS PETITE … Some of the participants vying for the crown of Miss Petite Global Namibia 2025.

The Miss Petite Global Namibia pageant is back promising a night of glitz and glam for petite women from across Namibia.

A franchise of the international organisation Miss Petite Global, the event will take place on 1 February at the Protea Hotel Thuringerhof in Windhoek.

The pageant, organised by the Walk by Bobby Kaanjosa Institute, promises to be a showstopper of not only beauty but also intelligence, talent, and empowerment for women.

Bobby Kanjoosa, owner of the Namibian franchise, says he is excited about the upcoming event.

“We are very proud to be hosting Miss Petite Global Namibia again this year, after the sterling performances of our reigning queen Esperensa Martins.

“She made us proud internationally by winning the continental title of Miss Petite Global Africa 2024 in Malaysia,” he says.

“This pageant is about redefining the meaning of beauty and giving petite women an opportunity to show the world that they too are capable of doing anything any other person can do and are strong and talented just like any other woman.”

Organisers have selected six women to compete for the coveted title of Miss Petite Global Namibia 2025.

“We had an overwhelming response during the entry period last year,” Kanjoosa says.

“Though we had fewer entries than anticipated, the women who did enter are all outstanding. Each one of them brings something different to the table, and we are looking forward to seeing them shine on stage.”

The contestants include human management student Tessany Esterhuizen, education student Hope Goagoses, fashion and beauty entrepreneur Janet Kaindume, fashion design student Josephine Shaapopi, pageant newcomer Virginia Kamunima, and north-based teacher Linda Jesaya.

The judging panel for this event will include a diverse group of industry professionals.

“We’ve carefully selected a panel of judges who represent different sectors of society,” Kanjoosa says.

“From actress Maria Amuyenla to South African pageant critic Jerobiam Julies, we are bringing in the best of the best.”

The full list of judges also includes pageant critic Harvey Upingasana, model Senia Pius, and social activist Junias David.

The event will be hosted by Miss Namibia 2024 second runner-up and Miss Charm 2024 top 10 finalist Georgia Garises, alongside former Man of the World Namibia 2020 winner Danny Shikwambi.

Kanjoosa says he is excited by the choice of hosts.

“Georgia and Danny, apart from being accomplished professionals, possess incredible energy and charisma on the stage. “They are both a great pair to lead the event with,” he says.

These pageants, however, are not possible without the support of key sponsors, including Yosessso Designs, MP Studios, and Static Lounge – which will eventually host the official after-party.

Kanjoosa says: “Without the support of our sponsors, we could not pull off such an event. They believe in the vision of Miss Petite Global Namibia, and we’re so grateful for their partnership.”

As the event nears, Kanjoosa says this is beyond just a pageant – it is a movement. It is about giving women the power to challenge conventional standards of beauty, and instead find their unique strengths.

“We can’t wait to see who will rise to the occasion and represent Namibia on the global stage.”
