MISS Namibia 2012, Tsakana Nkandih, will be leaving for Las Vegas in the United States on Sunday to represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant on December 19.
‘I am incredibly nervous and excited at the same time. I have never travelled in my life. I have never been outside the country and now I am flying to Las Vegas,’ said Nkandih.’I am used to 2,1 million people so you can imagine how huge the cultural shock will be for me,’ she said. She is looking forward to the chance of representing Namibia.’A person always dreams of travelling and doing things but usually there are financial constraints. Now I have been given the opportunity not only to travel for the first time but also to represent my country.’ Namibians can vote for her on http://www.missuniverse.com/www.missuniverse.com to ensure that she gets a spot in the semifinals. She received her national gift from Nakara and her national costume which was designed by Cobus Moller. ‘The inspiration for the national costume comes from the Welwitschia plant which is unique to Namibia,’ said Moller. He also designed her evening gown.
