Miss Namibia on finding ways to curb Covid-19

AS many of her planned appearances and charity work have been put on hold due to the lockdown, Miss Namibia 2019, Nadja Breytenbach, has teamed up with various organisations to create awareness about the Covid-19 pandemic in order to help curb its spread.

“I am part of an awareness campaign organised by the Ministry of Health. We recorded short clips which are aired on the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), where I talk about how important it is to stay at home and explain what Covid-19 actually is,” she said.

Breytenbach is also helping the Side by Side Early Intervention Centre to collect funds to continue their daily operations.

“Due to the pandemic, a lot of financial sponsorships were put on hold and thus the organisation is struggling to get the basic necessities such as face masks and hand sanitisers for the children.”

While at home during the lockdown, Breytenbach says she is also spreading awareness and motivation on her social media platforms, and she urges the public to do the same.

“If there are any businesses that would like to collaborate with me in raising awareness, they are more than welcome to contact the Miss Namibia Organisation at missnamibiapageant@gmail.com.”
