Medical aids record N$293m profit

Medical aid funds recorded a profit of N$293.6 million in three months.

The market is dominated by three main companies that hold 82.5% of the industry’s wealth.

These include Namibia Health Plan with a 35.6% share, Namibia Medical Care with 32.5% and Renaissance Health with 14.3% as at 31 December 2025.

According to the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority fourth quarter report, the industry’s assets were sufficient to settle its liabilities, with reserves also growing.

The law requires these funds to keep at least 25% of their money in savings.

The report shows that the industry’s total membership increased to 224 078 beneficiaries as at 31 December 2025.

“The growth in membership was observed for non-pensioner beneficiaries, indicating organic growth in membership during the quarter under review. Non-pensioner principal members grew by 583 to 96 359 and non-pensioner dependents increased by 718 to 112 589,” reads the report.
