President Nangolo Mbumba has wished former president Hifikepunye Pohamba a happy 89th birthday.
In a statement issued on 18 August, Mbumba congratulated Pohamba on behalf of the government and nation.
Pohamba is honoured for his role in the country’s liberation and his steadfast leadership during his two terms as president, Mbumba said.
He acknowledged Pohamba’s dedication to the nation, highlighting his wisdom, humility, and vision.
Mbumba wished the former president good health and continued wisdom, recognising him as a mentor and extraordinary leader.
