President Nangolo Mbumba considers cybersecurity as a crucial part of national security, presidential spokesperson Alfredo Hengari said on Sunday.
“In that vein, any threat to our security architecture, including cyberattacks, are dealt with the urgency they deserve,” Hengari said.
This comes after the Office of the President’s confidential information, among others, were leaked by Hunters International after the group claimed to have breached Telecom Namibia’s data.
The group leaked 626.3 GB of data, comprising 492 633 files it claims to have extracted.
“A security cluster is mobilised to deal with this matter,” Hengari added.
