An Angolan man (23) died after he was stabbed in the stomach at an Ondangwa bar just before midnight on Friday.

This was announced by Namibian Police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi in the recently released weekend crime report.

According to Shikwambi, the deceased was stabbed to death with a knife by a 27-year-old Angolan man after an argument.

“They were, however, separated but it is further alleged that the suspect went to his house, took a knife and chased the deceased. He allegedly stabbed him in his stomach several times, and again hit the victim with a brick on the head,” Shikwambi said.

The victim was rushed to Onandjokwe State Hospital by the police but was declared dead upon arrival.

“The suspect was arrested and the knife was recovered. He is due to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

“Police investigations continue,” Shikwambi said.

Meanwhile, in a separate murder incident, a 24-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly killed a 21-year-old man, identified as Robert Gabriel Shihafeleni.

“It is alleged that the suspect assaulted the Shihafeleni with a dry stick on the head and stabbed him several times all over the body with a kitchen knife during a fight, causing multiple deep cut wounds which resulted in his death on the spot,” Shikwambi said.

Shikwambi said the suspect will appear in the Eenhana Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Police investigations continue.
