A 29-year-old man was arrested at Okapya-Kambidhi village in the Omusati region for the suspected murder of a 33-year-old man.
The incident happened between Thursday evening at around 22h00 and Friday morning at Iipanda Yambalantu village.
Omusati police crime investigations coordinator deputy commissioner Malakia Simaho reported that the suspect used a stick to beat the victim several times on the face, before hanging him.
“As a result of the beating, the victim succumbed to the injuries. The motive for the murder is not known,” reported Simaho.
The suspect is due to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
