The DTS Liqui Fruit Beach Volleyball Series kicks off with the Winter Classic at DTS Club on Saturday.
The event will be one of four major tournaments secured after Liqui Fruit announced a sponsorship of N$120 000 for this year, as well as a commitment of a further N$120 000 for 2027.
Heiko Kesselmann, chairperson of the DTS Beach Volleyball section thanked Liqui Fruit for the sponsorship, saying that it enables the DTS Beach Volleyball division to successfully organize tournaments and events, while also creating opportunities to host training camps featuring high-profile international coaches.
“For the current season the sponsorship funds are being utilized primarily to provide attractive prize money for four major tournaments, helping to raise the level and competitiveness of beach volleyball in Namibia,” he said.
“Thanks to Hubertus Hamm from Bokomo/Liqui Fruit for supporting Beach Volleyball Namibia. Liqui Fruit’s continued commitment is a significant contribution to the development of the sport and provides valuable opportunities for our athletes to compete and improve,” he added.
The entrance fee N$200 per team in the two-a-side category and N$400 per team in the four-a-side social category. Teams can register at arena-tournaments.com
