Lil D takes a bow

THE days of hearing the name Lil D on radio and TV are over. The ‘Beautiful Feeling’ singer has finally decided to move from being known as Lil D to something that would suit his image better in future.

“I just feel that it is time for me to change my name,” Lil D said, adding that having matured musically, a name change should be a given.

Lil D, real name Desmond Katamila, was first introduced to the Namibian nation as an R B artist in 2007. He became an instant favourite when he featured on D-Jay’s local hit ‘Girl Like Mine’. The singer soon became a household name after his collaboration with rapper KK in ‘We Go Hard’

The R B sensation, who has recently been on the receiving end of mockery regarding his name, said that contrary to what many may believe, getting rid of the name Lil D has nothing to do with what has been going on.

The award winner affirmed that he will still work hard at being the king of R B and that the name change will in no way affect his ability to entertain his fans.

“I know that the name change is a risk I am taking, but I am positive that my fans will adapt to the change.”

He is currently focusing on penetrating the international market, which requires the type of brand that can compete globally.

So the big question remains. What is he changing his name to?

Fans and music lovers will have to hold on for a few more days to find out…

Check out on Friday to find out more about more about the talented singer’s transformation and upcoming projects.
