Katima starts water disconnections on Monday

ON Monday, the Katima Mulilo Town Council officially starts cutting off water supplies to its defaulters, who owe a combined N$98 million.

According to the breakdown, residents owe the city council N$69 161 953,79, ministries owe N$6 842 668,37, while businesses and industries owe N$22 586 289,99.

In a public notice, Katima chief executive officer Raphael Liswaniso warned residents to make payments on their accounts to avoid water disruptions at their houses, while urging them to work payment plans with the council’s finance department detailing how they will settle their bills.

Liswaniso apologised for the inconvenience this might cause to the town’s residents and business community.
