OUTGOING public enterprises minister Leon Jooste has also stepped down from the Swapo central committee.
Jooste today confirmed his resignation to The Namibian, saying he will always continue to serve his party with the same dedication as an ordinary member.
This follows his resignation as minister and a member of parliament, effective 31 March.
The outgoing minister added that his resignation is due to personal and private reasons. Following the resignations, Jooste noted that he is now out of politics.
“I’ve always felt that one should either be in politics, and especially in a political office, or in business. I’ve never mixed the two and based on that principle, it is appropriate for me to resign from active politics,” he explained.
