Affirmative Repositioning leader Job Amupanda says Swapo parliamentarian James Uerikua was a strategic person who could outsmart anyone sleeping.
Amupanda was speaking at Uerikua’s memorial service at Parliament Gardens in Windhoek on Wednesday.
“The truth is that James will dribble you if you are sleeping. He was a strategist and we both knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Game recognises game,” Amupanda said.
He added that Uerikua was a strategist who understood politics, adding that he was also a people’s person who always cared.
Amupanda said he appreciated Uerikua for sending him well wishes while he was recovering from an operation.
Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president Longinus Kalimbo said Uerikua’s death should be honoured by fighting for the betterment of the nation.
“Let this awaken our shared commitment and serve the people to make lives better,” he said.
All People’s Party leader Ambrosius Kumbwa described Uerikua as a “sharp-minded young lad” who still had a lot to offer.
Kumbwa urged parliamentarians to carry on Uerikua’s work, saying it is the best way to honour his legacy.
