Minister of international relations and trade Selma Ashipala-Musavyi arrived in Beijing, China on Sunday.
During her stay she will be attending several important meetings on China-Africa relations, including the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the China-Africa Economic Trade Expo which began on Sunday and concludes on 15 June.
“Minister Ashipala-Musavyi was officially received upon arrival at Beijing International Airport by his excellency Elia Kaiyamo, Namibian ambassador to China, accompanied by officials of the Namibian Government,” the ministry reported in a recent statement.
She will be focusing on consolidating Namibia’s role as a strategic partner to China within the realm of China-Africa relations. Further, the meetings are expected to foster stronger cooperation in priority areas such as trade, digital technology, agriculture, and infrastructure development.
