I WAS really disappointed by the report on NBC news on November 9 about the conjoined twins who were born in Namibia 20 years ago, whose bodies are still in the Police mortuary 20 years after their birth and their relatives did not claim them for proper burial.
It was shocking to hear someone in charge of the Police say the bodies of these conjoined twins were no longer regarded as human beings but rather as museum exhibits. It’s disgraceful! Why are these conjoined twins not regarded as human beings any more? What makes them lose the qualities of being human? The National Society for Human Rights must see to it that these twins get a proper burial just like everyone else. This is a violation of human rights and dignity.Displaying corpses in a museum is not acceptable in a democratic society like ours.Is this what happens to other unclaimed corpses? The Police and other relevant authorities should give these conjoined twins the respect they deserve. All human beings deserve to rest in peace. There can be no compromise on this.Angeles KN OngwedivaIt’s disgraceful!
