Home affairs ministry to enhance internal security

Lucia Witbooi

The deputy minister of home affairs, immigration, safety and security, Lucia Witbooi, says they are working on ensuring internal security.

Witbooi said this on Monday during the ministerial annual planning and review workshop that is taking place between 25 and 28 March.

She says that their collective mission is to enhance internal security through their management of the population register, facilitation of migration, and effective policing and correctional services.

“Today marks a crucial milestone when we gather to reflect on our past achievements, evaluate our challenges and chart a course for the future,” she said.

She added that their achievements serve as a testament to their resilience, determination and unwavering commitment to excellence.

According to Witbooi the workshop will explore the performance of the ministries’ performance management systems, analyse data, identify areas of improvement and set out the goals they have for the year.
