CUSTOMERS pay high prices for road freight transport services.
I hope that service users will shine some more light on their experiences and their thoughts on the prices they pay. I myself have been considering now for a while entering the road freight transport services industry, in an effort to stimulate price and service quality competition. The body language of service providers, when approached by me, is a subject of dismay as well as the protection of their very lucrative businesses in the transport sector. This is what I experienced when I presented to some of the freight transport sector’s members a computer programme that could actually improve price and service quality competition in the industry. Now, this programme is based on well-researched vehicle resources consumption. Thus, the results that I, myself, have witnessed in running this model are quite astounding. In one particular case, on the road that leads to the coast (Swakopmund), I recorded a 69 per cent profit above vehicle operating costs per kg.That is if we assume a normal profit to be 20 per cent, than the excess profit is nearly 50 per cent (this case, it amounts to 48c per kg) When one think about this, and how many kilogrammes that are being transported between Windhoek and Swakopmund, the savings that could be passed on to the person in the street, could may well amount to millions and millions of dollars annually. This is just my opinion, and I would therefore encourage other individuals and interested parties to contact me, so we could work together on this.Cell: 081 149 2921, E-mail:j_saunderson@yahoo.com.John A.Saunderson Via e-mailI myself have been considering now for a while entering the road freight transport services industry, in an effort to stimulate price and service quality competition. This is just my opinion, and I would therefore encourage other individuals and interested parties to contact me, so we could work together on this.Cell: 081 149 2921, E-mail:j_saunderson@yahoo.com.John A.Saunderson Via e-mail
