Stakeholders in the health industry will converge on 31 August for the Namibia Health Exhibition.

The three-day exhibition will run under the theme ‘2023 Health exhibition promoting well-being for all and fostering healthcare innovation’.

Grace Nakalondo, Pharmacists Care Association of Namibia (PCAN) president, told The Namibian yesterday that the exhibition will showcase medical companies and services that are available in Namibia.

“Another part of the exhibition will see healthcare professionals having discussions on health-related topics, almost like a conference,” she said

Nakalondo said the exhibition will create a platform for policymakers, medical practitioners and healthcare workers to share modern medical innovations to improve healthcare, to prevent diseases and seek medical solutions.

The exhibition will highlight work done within the private sector to improve public health, from research and development of new treatments and technologies to the provision of essential health services and products.

This will also enable collaboration between the public and private sectors to identify innovative solutions to healthcare challenges, Nakalondo said.

The expo was launched by health minister Kalumbi Shangula on 2 March in Windhoek.

“By working together, we can leverage the strengths and expertise of each partner to develop and implement effective policies and programmes that improve healthcare outcomes for all,” Shangula said.

He added that it is important to work together with a shared vision of a healthier and fairer society.

Shangula said the exhibition is a unique opportunity to showcase home-grown solutions that offer better opportunities for delivering universal health coverage.

“I urge PCAN and other partners to join these engagement groups and be part of shaping the journey towards universal health coverage,” he said.
