Health employees bond at Karibib

The Ministry of Health and Social Services in the Usakos district held an Employee Wellness Sports Day at Karibib over the weekend.

The Swakopmund District Hospital took honours in the netball and volleyball sections, with Navachab Gold Mine wining the football competition.

The Usakos District Hospital also enjoyed rewarding outings in the volleyball and football events where they managed two second place podium positions.

Third place in the volleyball went to the Namibian Correctional Services, while the Ebenhaeser team claimed second spot in the netball contest.

“The event was a great success, we were honoured to have the deputy mayor of Karibib grace the event with her presence and facilitate the award giving,” says social worker Hilma Kalimba.

The sport event’s objective was to promote employee well-being, foster team spirit, and enhance overall morale within the organisation.

Health fraternity staff members got to engage in physical activities, unwind from work-related stress, and build stronger interpersonal relationships outside of the workplace environment, she says.

The organisers believe that through this initiative, employees will develop stronger bonds with their colleagues, leading to improved collaboration and productivity in the workplace.
