A SOUTH African motivational speaker on the subjects of marriage, parenting and sexuality, Gretha Wiid, is on her way to Namibia once again.
This time around, the controversial woman intends to address a workshop on ‘the restoration of the lady’ on April 24.According to the organiser of the event, Adel Oosthuizen, the Saturday morning promises to be filled with ‘a lot of fun and games and entertainment just to boost women a bit’.Oosthuizen said Wiid is particularly effective because of the ‘humoristic approach’ she employs to bring her Christian message across. ‘I know her very well personally and she really is a true inspiration with a direct approach.’The organiser hopes to attract at least 1 000 women to this congress. She sees this as part of her vision for women for 2010.Oosthuizen will also focus on the ‘physical restoration’ of women. ‘We want to see to it that the women are served both from inside as well as outside.’Wiid aroused a huge public debate about her views on especially premarital sex, the use of sex toys by couples and masturbation. She is adamant that these are big no-nos.Conservative South Africans praised this Pretoria resident for her opinions, while others fried her for what they regard as an unrealistic perspective. Few people were neutral in these discussions which took South Africa by storm.Asked whether Wiid would address Namibian women about sexual matters, Oosthuizen said: ‘She will probably also speak about that. It’s a big crisis for women, because they have such low self-esteem.’
