THE Frans Indongo Group has introduced a new brand. The group’s new brand identity including the message ‘Shape Today. Own Tomorrow’ was announced during a ceremony held last week in Windhoek.
The 80-year-old Indongo has been transforming the company from being owner-managed to corporate-managed since 2006. The company now has a board of trustees, board of directors and chief executive officer.
As a community man who undertook many entrepreneurial ventures such as tree cutting, hunting, tailoring, working as an electrician, mechanic, and salesman on a bicycle, Indongo opened his first official shop in his own building in 1964.
“In all my years of achieving so many milestones, I realised that this was afforded to me by the grace of God, for which I am so grateful. I was given a seed, I planted it and today we are looking to re-position this company in the Namibian market, after almost 6 decades,” said Indongo.
The launch of the new brand was attended by Founding President Sam Nujoma and Prime Minister, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila.
The group’s CEO Kobus van Graan said during the event that the introduction of the new brand was meant to honour Indongo and to announce that the Frans Indongo Group will last for a long time. The Frans Indongo Group of Companies include: Bokomo Namibia, Tongaat Hulett Namibia, Wispeco Namibia, Frans Indongo Lodge, Protea Hotel Walvis Bay, Indongo Toyota, Hino Indongo and Grain Carriers Namibia.
