The second fistball league round will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Cohen Fistball Club. A total of 24 teams from three clubs are expected to compete in 41 matches. In the National A and B League, the hosts CFC 1 and CFC 3, respectively are at the top of the table.

The kick-off will take place on Friday at 16h00 with three teams from SKW competing in the u12 youth category. Afterwards, in the u15 category two teams from SKW will play against a selection team from CFC to determine a tournament winner.

On Saturday the u18 league starts at 08h30, with four teams from Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) and one from Swakopmund Fistball Club (SFC) taking part. The National A and B Leagues will follow with two teams from each club competing in the A League while one team each from CFC and SFC will compete against five teams from SKW in the National B League.

This year there is a promising title race in the u18 league, with three teams, namely SFC A, SKW A and SKW C tied at the top of the table after the first match day.

After gaining maximum points in the National A League, the reigning champions CFC 1 now hold a two-point lead over SKW 1 and they will be keen to extend their lead on their home turf this weekend. SFC 1 and SKW 2, however, follow closely close behind in third and fourth places resepectively.

CFC 3 are on top of the log in the National B League, and are closely followed by SKW 3, SKW 4 and SKW 5.

From 21 to 27 March, a seven-day training camp took place under the leadership of the three Austrian coaches, Fabian Greifeneder, Tanja Gahleitner and Magdalena Bauer. The u18 boys and girls as well as the women’s national team and children under 12 children participated. In the weeks before and after, training was also offered by the experienced coaches on training days in Windhoek and Swakopmund.

The u18 male and female squads will be reduced on Saturday before the national team is announced in June. The women’s national team will however be announced on Saturday evening as there are only seven players.

The u18 World Fistball Championship will take place from 31 October to 3 November in Llanquihue, Chile while the Women’s World Championship will take place from 7 to10 November in Montecarlo, Argentina.
