First-ever Wernhil Wedding and Events Expo a success

FOR those planning to get married or host any kind of special event, the first-ever Wernhil Wedding and Events Expo was the place to be last weekend.

With future brides and grooms flocking to the mall in the capital, an array of shops set up stalls to showcase what they do best – from wedding gowns and suits to the ultimate event decor – from 27 to 30 September, attracting hundreds of onlookers and shoppers.

The expo was a unique event, especially for engaged couples. The planning process of a wedding can be overwhelming as you don’t know where to start. But the expo had everything you need.

Last Wednesday, the event got off to a slow start but during the weekend, the expo attracted more shoppers.

Exhibitors from different companies had a lot to say about the event, including Ngurii Musuoo from Ultimate Events who said: “The event was great and a lot of visitors who were at our stand were very impressed with what we do. Our company does decor, events management and catering.

“We have been in the business for two years now and the Wedding and Events Expo gave us more exposure to people who don’t know about our services.”

Another company that exhibited was Vanilla Confetti Bridal Couture which offers bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, infinity dresses and evening dresses on order.

Nancy Maphosa, marketing and public relations officer at Broll Namibia said: “In fact, the response we received was overwhelming. We had a large number of phone calls from people who wanted to attend the expo and also from potential exhibitors who wanted to participate in the expo last minute.”

The highlights included creativity. “The creativity of the exhibitors was something to look forward to daily, the artistic table settings were changed daily and those with wedding attire also brought something different to display regularly,” Maphosa said.

“The dresses that were on display were absolutely beautiful. It was truly inspiring and we looked forward to see what creativity was brought each day.”

According to Maphosa, the response from the public was positive and the expo was met with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement.

“Some of the comments we received on social media was that the expo was simply ‘breathtaking’. We would hear people on the phone attending the expo calling their friends and family telling them that they have found an ‘item’ and they would tell them to come to Wernhil Park.”

She added that the exhibitors were equally impressed and Broll Namibia could confirm that orders poured in. “All in all, it was truly an awarding and successful expo.”
