The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has announced urgent rectification measures following the detection of a significant nomination declaration error in the Nkurenkuru Constituency regional council election in the Kavango West region.
Tenga Ndara of Swapo was declared duly elected for the upcoming regional council election.
However, the ECN in a statement released on Saturday says the procedural mistake prematurely terminated the election process.
“The commission is actively attending to the rectification of this issue through urgent steps,” ECN spokesperson De Wet Siluka says. – Nampa
