Landless People’s Movement national youth leader Duminga Ndala has been appointed as chairperson of the Young Women of Africa.
Ndala confirmed her appointment to The Namibian on Thursday.
“I was appointed on Sunday,” she said.
A notice issued this week by Young Woman of Africa (Yowa) says Ndala will represent the organisation at national and international events, as well as lead and support the executive committee.
“She will set the strategic direction and vision of the organisation,” reads the notice.
The organisation says Ndala will advocate policies and initiatives that will benefit young women across Africa.
Yowa is a continental network and movement established in 2021 that unites young women aged 16 to 40 across 39 countries to empower, inspire and support one another.
It acts as a platform for advocacy, mentorship, and leadership development, aiming to break barriers like child marriage and promote gender equality across the continent.
