A medical doctor (31) has been arrested after allegedly raping a man (26) at Onandjokwe State Hospital in the Oshikoto region over the weekend.
According to the police, the incident took place early on Saturday after the doctor allegedly invited the man to Oniipa to celebrate his new job.
“The complainant claimed to not have money, but the suspect offered to pay for his transport and did so, and the complainant was dropped at Onandjokwe Hospital’s gate,” the police say.
The man told police he was offered alcoholic drinks before feeling nauseous and “losing control”.
He claims the doctor sexually assaulted him in his room.
The complainant reportedly escaped by breaking a window with his hand before fleeing. He says he later regained consciousness in a hospital bed.
The police say both the complainant and the suspect have undergone forensic rape examinations, while the suspect has been arrested.
Police investigations are continuing.
