THE Keetmanshoop Agricultural, Industrial and Tourism Expo is an important platform for conducting business, the town’s deputy mayor, Hilia Titus, said when she officially opened the expo today.
Titus said the expo provided producers, suppliers and traders with excellent opportunities to assess opinions from clients, determine market potential, conduct research, evaluate competition, to develop commercial structures by identifying new agents and distributors, and to initiate ventures as well as project partnerships.
Expos also help in creating an ideal platform for exhibitors to nurture trust and confidence across the supply chain as well as in marketing and publicity efforts, and could host interactions that may lead to joint ventures and tie-ups and may also help bring investment to Keetmanshoop, she added.
The expo was hosted for the first time in 1955, when it was styled as an agricultural show aimed at providing farmers from the region with an opportunity to showcase and market their products.
The theme for this year’s expo is ‘Entrepreneurial diversity in unison’.
