D-Naff has done it again, the talented Namibian gospel star just released his fourth album.
The Windhoek-based rapper proved once again that he is also a consistent recording artist by dropping the exciting 13-track album titled ‘The Untold Truth.’And, apart from working with at least five local producers, to come up with this superb and unique blend of gospel music, he also worked with six artists on the new album.Local artists like Tequila, Tunakie, Fidel, Trace, Christina, Luvy, Armando, Alicia Diergaardt, Armando, Anani, Beaulah, Cutie Olloy, his daughter Desiree Amukwelele, Hilya and rap maestro, Qonja are complemented by Uche from Nigeria and Zimbabwean national Raymond. The album opens with the sultry ‘Shitayi Shetu’ which is a beautiful dance track on which D-Naff declares his love for being a born-again Christian and he features the golden voice of singing sensation Tequila and the Queen of Otyaka Tunakie.Tequila brings out her beautiful voice strongly on ‘Yahwe’ while Uche and Raymond also add their kwasa kwasa and sungura flavours to a truly African collaboration, while D-Naff adds his powerful rapping, which makes the song one of my favourites on the album. The title track ‘Untold Truth,’ is definitely my favourite on the album. D-Naff invited Fidel, Trace, Elvo and Armando to come up with a strongly hip hop flavoured song, which is actually a very brave decision by a gospel artist and a Namibian for that matter. The award-winning star combines his powerful voice well with Christina’s velvet voice on ‘Ondaningine Menono,’ as he preaches that everyone needs Jesus in their lives. He also borrows some lyrics from South Africa on ‘Somlandela’ on which the gifted Luvy adds her golden voice to preach the gospel with D-Naff in a superbly constructed style. His teen daughter Desiree Amukwulele brings out her singing talent on ‘Anything Is Possible’ on which he also combines kwaito with gospel by featuring super rapper Qonja, alias Mdakadaka, who sings that he wants to live life to the fullest.
